Essential Information for Your Tangier Tour
Day 1: Tangier → Chefchaouen → Fes – Blue Medina & Imperial Vibes
Your Moroccan journey begins with a warm welcome and private pick-up from your hotel, airport, or port in Tangier. From here, your driver will guide you south through the majestic Rif Mountains, offering stunning landscapes of rugged cliffs and rolling hills.
Stop in the magical town of Chefchaouen, also known as the Blue Pearl of Morocco, famous for its striking blue-washed walls and serene medina. Wander the quiet alleyways, visit the calming Ras El Ma spring, or hike to the Spanish Mosque for panoramic views of the city at sunset.
After free time in Chefchaouen, continue your drive to Fes, Morocco’s spiritual and cultural heart.
Overnight: Stay in a traditional riad within the historical medina of Fes.
Day 2: Fes → Ifrane → Midelt → Merzouga – Forests, Valleys & Desert Sunsets
After breakfast, begin your scenic journey through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Your first stop is Ifrane, known as the Switzerland of Morocco due to its alpine-style architecture and clean, green parks. Continue on to Azrou, where you may spot wild Barbary macaques in the cedar forest.
Pause for lunch in the charming town of Midelt, nestled between mountain ranges. In the afternoon, traverse the spectacular Ziz Valley, dotted with palm groves and hidden kasbahs.
Arrive in Merzouga, where your Sahara adventure begins. Mount a camel and ride into the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi just as the sun sets. Settle into your luxury or standard desert camp, enjoy a traditional dinner, and listen to Berber music under the stars.
Overnight: Luxury or standard Berber camp in the dunes of Merzouga.
Day 3: Merzouga → Todgha Gorges → Dades Valley – Sahara to Stone Cliffs
Wake early to catch a mesmerizing sunrise over the Sahara, then enjoy breakfast at your camp. Return to Merzouga by camel or 4×4, and head toward the oasis town of Rissani, a key stop along ancient caravan routes.
Continue through arid landscapes to reach the awe-inspiring Todgha Gorges, where steep limestone cliffs rise hundreds of feet on either side of a crystal-clear stream. Take a peaceful walk or simply relax in the cool canyon air.
Later, drive along the scenic Dades Valley, known for its lush greenery, red cliffs, and ancient kasbahs perched along the river.
Overnight: Comfortable kasbah hotel or guesthouse in the heart of Dades Valley.
Day 4: Dades Valley → Ait Ben Haddou → High Atlas → Marrakech – Cinematic Views & Mountain Passes
After breakfast, set off through the fragrant Valley of Roses, where locals harvest damask roses to create perfumes and beauty products. Wind through Skoura, an oasis known for its palm groves and hidden fortresses.
Arrive at Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and iconic ksar featured in films like Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, and Game of Thrones. Walk through the ancient alleys and mud-brick towers.
Optional stop in Ouarzazate, the Hollywood of Morocco, to visit Atlas Film Studios or the Taourirt Kasbah. Then cross the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260 m), the highest road pass in Morocco, offering dramatic views as you descend into the bustling city of Marrakech.
Overnight: Stylish riad in the vibrant medina of Marrakech.
Day 5: Explore Marrakech or Depart – Red City Rhythms
Begin your final day with a guided tour (optional) of Marrakech, known for its rich culture, vibrant souks, and historical landmarks. Visit the Koutoubia Mosque, the lavish Bahia Palace, and the iconic Jemaa el-Fnaa square, where snake charmers, henna artists, and storytellers bring the square to life.
Take time to wander the colorful markets, shop for local crafts, or relax at a traditional hammam.
Depending on your schedule, your driver will transfer you to Marrakech Menara Airport or your local accommodation.
Optional: Extend your stay in Marrakech or request transfer back to Tangier (additional day).
Tour Ends – With memories of the desert, mountains, and Morocco’s magic.
