Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Draa Valley – Zagora Desert

Your shared 2-day desert adventure to Zagora begins with an early morning departure from Marrakech at around 7:30 AM. Sit back and enjoy the scenic journey as you cross the spectacular Tizi N’Tichka Pass at approximately 2,260 meters altitude, passing through charming Amazigh (Berber) villages where you may see local people and their goats along the way.

We’ll make stops in the High Atlas Mountains where you can take photos, stretch your legs, and enjoy a refreshing Moroccan mint tea while taking in the beautiful mountain scenery.

Upon arrival at Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site, you’ll have free time to explore this famous fortified village, known for its traditional architecture and appearances in numerous international film productions. If you would like to discover the kasbah with a local guide, a guided visit is available for an additional €3 per person. After exploring Ait Ben Haddou, you’ll have approximately one hour for lunch at your leisure before continuing the journey.

Heading toward the oasis of Agdz, we’ll pass through Ouarzazate and continue toward the Anti-Atlas Mountains, where breathtaking landscapes and traditional villages await. We then travel through the spectacular Draa Valley, home to one of Morocco’s largest palm groves, with lush oases, palm trees, and ancient fortified kasbahs along the route.

From there, we’ll begin the return journey toward Ouarzazate, where you’ll have time to stop for lunch at a local café.
