Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Draa Valley – Zagora Desert

Your shared 2-day desert adventure to Zagora begins with an early morning departure from Marrakech at 7:30 AM. Sit back and enjoy the scenic drive as we cross the Tizi N’Tichka Pass (2,260m altitude), passing through charming Berber villages where you may spot locals herding their goats.

We’ll stop in the High Atlas Mountains for you to take photos, stretch your legs, or enjoy a refreshing Moroccan mint tea. Upon arrival at Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site, you’ll have free time to explore its famous fortified village, a filming location for numerous epic movies and photo shoots. If you’d like to join a guided tour, it’s available for an additional €3 per person. Afterward, you’ll have an hour for lunch at your leisure before continuing our journey.

Heading toward the oasis of Agdz, we’ll pass through Ouarzazate and the Anti-Atlas Mountains, where breathtaking landscapes await. Driving along the Draa Valley, home to Morocco’s largest palm plantation, you’ll admire the lush oases and ancient fortified kasbahs.

By the afternoon, we’ll arrive in the Zagora Desert, where your camel caravan awaits. Set off on a memorable sunset camel ride across the desert for about an hour, immersing yourself in the tranquil beauty of the surroundings. Please note that Zagora has small dunes, offering a different desert experience.

Just before nightfall, we’ll reach our Berber desert camp, located in the heart of the Zagora dunes. Here, you’ll enjoy a delicious Moroccan dinner under the stars, followed by a mesmerizing drum performance around the campfire. Your local nomad hosts will play and sing traditional folk music, creating an unforgettable atmosphere. Feel free to stargaze, relax, and embrace the serenity of the desert before drifting off to sleep in your cozy tent.
