Day 1: MARRAKECH – ATLAS MOUNTAINS – KASBAH Aït Ben Haddou – BOUMALNE DADES VALLEY

We will begin our exciting 3-day shared desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga at 7:30 AM. Our first destination is the High Atlas Mountains, where we’ll cross the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass. As we drive, you’ll witness small fortified Berber villages nestled into the mountainsides, offering a glimpse into Morocco’s rich history and culture.

Next, we’ll visit the iconic Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This stunning village, entirely built from mud, has appeared in numerous films and is a true gem of Moroccan architecture.

After exploring Ait Benhaddou, we’ll continue our journey to Ouarzazate for a lunch break at a local restaurant. Then, we’ll pass through Skoura, known for its palm groves, and Kalaat M’Gouna, famous for its roses, on our way to Dades Valley.

In the evening, we’ll enjoy a delicious dinner and spend the night at a comfortable riad/hotel in Boulmane Dades Valley.

After a delicious early breakfast, we’ll drive along the scenic Road of 1001 Kasbahs, making our way to Tinghir. Here, we’ll stop to admire the breathtaking Todra Gorge and capture some beautiful photos of its towering rock formations.

Next, we’ll continue our journey, passing through Rissani, the largest date market in Morocco, before heading directly to the edge of Erg Chebbi’s dunes in Merzouga. Upon arrival, we’ll meet our friendly camels who will take us on an unforgettable camel trek through the sand dunes to our desert camp.

As the day winds down, we’ll witness a magical sunset over the dunes, a truly awe-inspiring experience. Afterward, we’ll indulge in an authentic Moroccan dinner under the stars, accompanied by lively Berber drum music around the campfire.

Spend the rest of the evening gazing at the starry sky—see how many shooting stars and constellations you can name before heading to your tent for a restful night in the desert.
