Essential Information for Your Merzouga Desert Tour
Day 1: Ouarzazate – Palm Grove Skoura – Valley of Roses – Boutghrar – Gorges of Dades – Gorges of Toudra
Embark on a special 3-day, 2-night journey from Ouarzazate to the desert. After a delicious breakfast, we’ll pick you up from your accommodation and begin our scenic drive towards the Gorges of Toudra. Our first stop will be the Skoura Palm Grove, where you’ll have the chance to explore the Route of the Thousand Kasbahs. We’ll pause to visit the historic Kasbah of Amrédhyle before continuing on to the stunning Valley of Roses. Here, we’ll take a 50 km track towards Kalaa M’Gouna, where you’ll visit the nomads living in caves. You’ll be invited to enjoy traditional tea and engage in conversation with the locals to learn more about their customs and way of life.
Next, we’ll head towards the Dades Valley and stop at the Kasbah of Ait Youl, before stopping for a delicious lunch in the Gorges of Dades. In the afternoon, we’ll continue our journey to the Gorges of Toudra, where you’ll enjoy a relaxing dinner and spend the night in a comfortable local accommodation.
Day 3 : Merzouga – Rissani – N’kob – Ouarzazate
On the third day, we will start early to witness the stunning sunrise over the dunes of Merzouga. Afterward, we’ll return to the hotel for a refreshing shower and a hearty breakfast. We will then begin our journey back to Ouarzazate. Along the way, we will visit the traditional medina and bustling souk of Rissani. We will then pass through a series of picturesque Berber villages, including Alnif, Tazarine, and Nkob, before reaching the Draa Valley, where we’ll stop to explore the historic Alkaid Ali Kasbah in Tamnougale. Continuing our drive, we will head towards Agdez, crossing the scenic Tizi-n-Tinififft Pass, which sits at an altitude of 1,660 meters. We will arrive in Ouarzazate around 5:00 p.m., marking the end of our Merzouga Desert Tour.
